Recommended Pre & Post Care Instructions

Pre-treatment Instructions

Stop using any retinol or glycolic products 72 hours prior to your appointment.
Avoid any tanning or sun exposure 4 days prior to and up until your appointment.
Do not use any fragranced lotion or moisturizer 48 hours before your visit.
Use a gentle cleanser before you arrive on the day of your visit.
If you have had Botox or injectables recently you must wait 2 weeks before you can book your services.

Post-treatment Instructions

24 hours post-treatment avoid fragranced lotions and moisturizers as well as make-up.
Use only a gentle cleanser 24 hours post-treatment.
You may resume using your regular products 48 hours after your treatment.
No invasive procedures until the skin is completely healed.

Pre-treatment Instructions

Avoid tanning or sun exposure 48 hours prior to your appointment.
Do not exfoliate your skin for 48 hours before your appointment.
You should stop using any acne medications such as Tretinoin, Retin-A, Accutane, etc. 48 hours prior to your appointment.
If you have had Botox or injectables recently you must wait 2 weeks before you can book your services.
Do not get any chemical peel or laser services 48 hours before your booking.

Post-treatment Instructions

48 hours post-treatment - please avoid exfoliation and retinol products.
24 hours post-treatment - please avoid heat sources such as saunas, hot showers, or cardio workouts.
You may apply makeup the day after your treatment.
Always apply SPF but especially for 48 hours after treatment.

Avoid eating/drinking colored foods for example; wine, tea, coffee, chocolate, beets, berries, and red or dark sauces. If you consume drinks like tea try using a straw to avoid contact with your teeth. This includes colored mouth washed especially blue or red.
Please arrive at your appointment with brushed and clean teeth.

Post-treatment Instructions

Avoid certain foods, especially the first 48 hours after treatment. Avoid eating/drinking colored foods for example; wine, tea, coffee, chocolate, beets, berries, and red or dark sauces. If you consume drinks like tea try using a straw to avoid contact with your teeth. This includes colored mouth washed especially blue or red.
Avoid Tobacco use. If you do need to use tobacco use an e-cigarette limitedly to avoid staining.
Avoid acidic foods. For example lemons, limes, soda, pickles, fruit, juices, or beer.
Avoid hot and cold foods. A whitening procedure can generally make your teeth more sensitive. Only consume hot and cold foods as tolerated.
Brush your teeth immediately after eating foods that could stain.
Use sensitive toothpaste if you need to so you can continue to brush often. Follow good dental hygiene including brushing, flossing, and using clear mouthwash.
Touch-ups are recommended every 6 months.

Pre-treatment Instructions

If you have active acne in the area of treatment please call to reschedule.
If you have a history of cold sores you will be placed on a medication called Zovirax. Please follow the instructions on your prescription.
Please arrive with fully cleansed skin: no makeup, moisturizers, perfume, cologne, or any other products on the skin.
Avoid Retin-A, retinoids, topical antibiotics, exfoliants, hydroquinone, and benzyl peroxide 3 days prior to treatment.
Topical numbing creme will be applied pre-treatment. Notify us of any medication allergies
Microneedling cannot be done while PREGNANT OR NURSING.
No sun exposure, tanning beds, or self-tanning products for three days prior to the procedure. The procedure will be canceled if you are sunburned.
None of the following can be used or performed two weeks prior to treatment: chemical peels, waxing, and chemical depilatories.
Do not shave the treatment area on the day of the procedure.
Bring a hat and scarf on the day of the procedure to wear after your treatment.

Post-treatment Instructions

Use ONLY your post-treatment kit for the first four days after your treatment. Do not use any of your own products during this time period.
NO SUN EXPOSURE for at least 14 days, ideally 30 days after the procedure.
NO tanning beds, or self-tanning products for 7-14 days after the procedure.
NO picking or exfoliating,
NO vitamin A products 7 days post-treatment (including Retin-A, Retinal, Tazorac).
NO chemical peels 14 days post-treatment
NO shaving 3 days after the procedure, if the skin is irritated continue to wait before shaving.
NO toners for 14 days post-treatment
NO sweating, exercising.Jacuzzi, sauna, steam bath until skin irritation has resolved (3-7 days)
NO exfoliating medications or chemical products or devices for at least 7 days post-treatment
Ice packs, Tylenol and NSAIDS are okay if you are feeling discomfort or swelling.
Do not take Ibuprofen, Aleve or Mortin.
Eat fresh pineapples or drink pineapple juice to minimize bruising and swelling.

Post-treatment Instructions

Always keep the area clean to avoid infections until the carbon crusts (scabs) have formed and exfoliated on their own. Removing the scabs prematurely will result in scarring.
Gently splash the area with cool water and very gently cleanse with soap and rinse thoroughly. Use very mild/gentle pressure when cleansing the area. Pat dry only. Make sure the skin feels dry and tight before applying the aftercare gel.
It's important that you allow scabs to come off on their own. This will ensure the best possible healed result and avoid scarring and infection.
Do not pick scabs or apply make-up (even mineral make-up) until the scabbing is complete. This is to avoid infection or disrupting the scabs prematurely.
Always apply broad-spectrum SPF to the area for a minimum of 3 months after your last treatment. The skin is still healing and can easily become damaged by any UV rays and may cause hyperpigmentation and/or premature aging.
Do not work out, swim, or use a hot tub or steam bath until the scabs have exfoliated. Please remember it takes a full 8 weeks to see the final result. After dots are shed, the skin may appear healed, but that is just the beginning as the skin underneath does its work. It takes 4 weeks for collagen and elastin production to begin.

Post-treatment Instructions

After treatment avoid water contact on the area of treatment for at least 4 hours.
Do not apply any cosmetics after the treatment.
Avoid wearing makeup until the next day. After 24 hours, you can return to your normal makeup and skincare routine
Wear an SPF Sunscreen for several weeks after your treatment. Your skin will be extra sensitive to the sun during this time.
Touch-ups are recommended at least once a month for maintenance. Please ask your consultant to schedule a follow-up appointment.
